Course Description: Ultrasound is an invaluable physical modality widely used for diagnosis and therapy in humans and animals. It is noninvasive, atraumatic, and may be used repeatedly. As a therapeutic tool, ultrasound has been in use for some 6 decades. Therapeutic ultrasound (TUS) is used for the treatment of musculoskeletal disorders, including acute soft tissue injuries, overuse syndromes, as well as chronic orthopedic and rheumatologic conditions. In this 1-hour presentation we will discuss ultrasound as a therapeutic tool as well as discussing the biophysical effects of this modality. Upon completion of this chiro CE course, the clinician will understand the rationale behind using ultrasound as an adjunctive modality. Also, the indications and contraindications of its use will be discussed in detail. Proper usage of this well proven therapy modality will enhance your clinical outcomes in patient management!
