The Four Clinical Domains of CCR

Four Clinical Domains of CCR — Tap to Expand

CCR integrates three course tracks (rehabilitation, physical therapy, and evidence-based practice) into a unified rehabilitation curriculum. Each domain builds the clinical reasoning, hands-on skill, and outcome measurement competencies that distinguish the DC who manages complex functional cases.

Domain 1 — Functional Rehabilitation & Movement Assessment

Chiropractic integration: The DC managing complex MSK cases must assess and restore functional movement patterns, not just reduce pain. Domain 1 builds the assessment and corrective exercise protocols that bridge chiropractic adjustment to functional recovery.

  • Functional movement screening and corrective exercise prescription
  • Progressive loading protocols: stability to strength to performance
  • Active care models that extend the clinical encounter into the patient's daily movement habits
Domain 2 — Clinical Orthopedics for Rehabilitation

Chiropractic integration: Rehabilitation cannot be prescribed without a sound orthopedic diagnosis. Domain 2 connects structural diagnosis to rehabilitation sequencing — identifying which tissues are in which phase of healing and matching the rehab protocol to the biology.

  • Tissue healing phases and their implications for exercise selection and loading
  • Joint-specific rehabilitation protocols for spine and extremity conditions
  • Red-flag recognition and referral criteria during the rehabilitation process
Domain 3 — Physical Therapy Modalities

Chiropractic integration: Modalities are adjuncts, not endpoints. Domain 3 teaches the evidence base, dosimetry, and clinical decision-making behind the most commonly used physical therapy modalities in chiropractic rehabilitation — when to apply them, when to withdraw them, and how to document outcomes.

  • Electrical stimulation, ultrasound, cryotherapy, and thermotherapy — indications and contraindications
  • Dosimetry and treatment parameter optimization for each modality
  • Modality integration within a progressive rehabilitation plan
Domain 4 — Evidence-Based Practice & Outcome Measurement

Chiropractic integration: Rehabilitation without outcome measurement is guesswork. Domain 4 teaches the EBP frameworks that turn clinical decisions into measurable, defensible, and publishable protocols — the same evidence-literacy skills that build credibility with referral partners.

  • Patient-reported outcome measures (PROMs) and functional outcome tools
  • Critical appraisal of rehabilitation research — reading and applying the literature
  • Documentation standards for outcome-based care and third-party accountability

Credential transparency. The CCR certificate is a post-doctoral certificate of completion recognizing 48 hours of advanced learning in chiropractic rehabilitation. It is not a board diplomate credential. Doctors pursuing the Diplomate of the American Chiropractic Rehabilitation Board (DACRB) typically need 300+ post-graduate hours plus examination. CCR hours may serve as foundational study toward that pathway depending on the board's current acceptance policy — verify before enrolling.

Frequently Asked Questions

Frequently Asked Questions — Tap to Expand
Is the CCR certificate the same as a DACRB?
No. The CCR certificate is a post-doctoral certificate of completion recognizing 48 hours of advanced study. The DACRB requires 300+ post-graduate hours plus examination. CCR provides foundational rehabilitation enrichment; diplomate pursuit is a separate pathway.
Which courses count toward CCR?
CCR draws from three course tracks: Rehabilitation 201–218 (18 courses), Physical Therapy 201–204 (4 courses), and Evidence Based Practice 205–207 (3 courses). Select any 24 courses (48 hours) across these three tracks to complete the program.
Will the 48 CCR hours satisfy my state CE renewal?
In most cases yes. All courses across all three tracks are PACE-approved and recognized in 40+ U.S. states, Canada, and several international jurisdictions. CE Broker auto-reports your completion. Confirm your state's rules on the state CE guidelines page.
Can I count CCR courses toward CCO as well?
CCR and CCO are separate certification programs with different course tracks. CCO draws from Orthopedics 201–224; CCR draws from Rehab 201–218, PT 201–204, and EBP 205–207. There is no overlap between the two course pools, so completing both certifications gives you 96 distinct hours of advanced study.
How much does the CCR program cost?
Online courses are $20/hr — get 10% off when you purchase 6–9 hours, or 20% off at 10+ hours. Discounts apply automatically at checkout. The full 48-hour CCR program at 20% off comes to $768 — a $192 savings off the $960 base tuition.
