Is chiropractic regulated in the Northwest Territories (NWT)?

Chiropractic is generally considered unregulated in the Northwest Territories (NWT). Most practitioners maintain registration and CE compliance through the province where they hold an active license (commonly Alberta or British Columbia).

Do I need a specific number of CE hours for NWT?

There is no single NWT chiropractic college/board CE hour requirement. Your CE requirements typically follow your home-province regulator and renewal cycle (for example, Alberta or British Columbia).

If I renew in Alberta, what is the key deadline and requirement to remember?

Alberta’s regulator (CCOA) requires 24 Continuing Competence (CC) credits per registration year, and credits for annual renewal must be submitted by May 31. Certificates must show a valid CCOA Seminar Reference Number to be accepted.

What should my CE certificate include to avoid a rejected submission?

For regulators that require proof, your certificate should clearly show your name, completion date, hours/credits, and any required approval/reference identifier (e.g., Alberta’s CCOA Seminar Reference Number when applicable).

How do I make sure CCEDseminars shows the right approvals for me?

Set your primary license jurisdiction in your CCEDseminars account profile (your home province). Your dashboard will help you track course eligibility and certificates based on that selection.

Does First Aid/CPR count toward chiropractic CE credits?

In many jurisdictions, First Aid/CPR may be required for registration or workplace credentialing but does not count toward CE credits. Always confirm with your home-province regulator and keep documentation current.

What is the fastest way to get renewal-ready if I’m working in Yellowknife or fly-in/fly-out?

Start with your home-province requirements and deadline, then build an online bundle that covers mandatory topics first, followed by practice-relevant electives. Keep certificates organized in one folder for quick submission if requested.
