The medications most aging patients take every day — statins, proton pump inhibitors, metformin, SSRIs, and antihypertensives — quietly deplete the nutrients their bodies need most, and the fatigue, neuropathy, muscle dysfunction, and cognitive change that follow are routinely chalked up to age. This 2-hour live webinar with Dr. Stacie Flanery is built to change what the chiropractor sees in that patient: the mechanisms by which each drug class interferes with absorption, metabolism, excretion, and mitochondrial function; the clinical consequences that show up in the exam room; and the targeted nutrient repletion strategies that fit inside a chiropractic care plan.
Course 6 in its series, this session is PACE-approved under FCLB Provider #34015544, delivered live for the states that require live-format hours, and taught by a functional-medicine clinician with more than 20 years in practice. Attend live on Tuesday, October 13, 7–9 PM Central; complete the brief post-webinar assessment; your certificate is in your account the same night. Every completion generates an instant certificate for your renewal file.
Choose Your Live CE Path — Three Lanes, One Calendar
Every CCEDseminars webinar is live, PACE-approved, and taught in real time by practicing DC faculty with Q&A. Build by what your board requires, what your patients need, or the certification you are working toward. The full quarter lives on the live webinar calendar.
1 · TBCE Required
The Board-mandated live hours for Texas licensees — ethics, rules, documenting, and risk management — taught by Dr. Hall every month.
Ethics: TBCE Required & PACE Approved
Documentation & Risk: Audit-Ready Workflows
2 · Clinical & Longevity
Spinal manipulation and longevity, chiropractic nutrition and healthy aging, autonomic resilience, muscle as medicine, physical examination, regenerative medicine — the clinical sessions from Drs. Hall, Benedikt, Hill, Ozello, and O'Hara that count toward the live-format hours many states require.
3 · Certification Track
Live sessions that also build toward CCEDseminars certification programs, including the Certified Longevity Health Specialist (CLHS) curriculum. You are here: Course 6, Medication-Induced Nutrient Depletion, October 13.
New live sessions are added to the calendar each quarter.
What You'll Learn — Course Overview
• Identification of the most prevalent medications used in aging populations: statins, proton pump inhibitors, metformin, SSRIs, and antihypertensives.
• Mechanisms of medication-induced nutrient depletion (absorption, metabolism, excretion, mitochondrial interference).
• Clinical consequences of depletion: fatigue, neuropathy, muscle dysfunction, cognitive changes, and metabolic disruption.
• Targeted nutrient repletion and clinical integration into patient care.
Your Live Webinar Faculty
Stacie Flanery, DC — instructor of this webinar — teaches functional medicine, lifestyle medicine, chronic inflammatory conditions, root-cause clinical reasoning, systems biology, and patient-centered education for CCEDseminars. A 2001 Parker College of Chiropractic graduate with a B.S. in psychology from Texas State University, Dr. Flanery owned and operated Flanery Family Chiropractic in Carrollton, Texas, from 2002 to 2016, served as adjunct clinical instructor at Parker, and is completing the Institute for Functional Medicine certification program. Her clinical background spans chronic pain syndromes, fibromyalgia, headache and migraine, autoimmune and inflammatory disorders, and degenerative joint disease, and her teaching translates complex functional-medicine concepts — mitochondrial function, environmental health, detoxification — into clear, structured frameworks a practicing chiropractor can use.
Michael Hall, DC, FIACN — board-certified chiropractic neurologist and Fellow of the International Academy of Chiropractic Neurology — leads the Texas TBCE ethics and compliance track, the Documentation & Risk series, and the spinal manipulation and longevity sessions.
Howard Benedikt, DC, DCBCN — Diplomate of the Chiropractic Board of Clinical Nutrition — leads the functional-medicine sessions, including autonomic nervous system regulation and chiropractic nutrition for healthy aging.
Arland Hill, DC, MPH, DACBN — chiropractic physician with a Master of Public Health and Diplomate of the American Clinical Board of Nutrition — leads the muscle-as-medicine and clinical longevity track.
Donald Ozello, DC, CCN, CCSM and Dennis O'Hara, DC, DACBSP bring the sports-medicine sessions — physical examination, athletic injury, and regenerative medicine — to the live calendar.

Where Live Hours Count — State Rules Worth Knowing
Texas: under Texas Administrative Code §73.1, licensees complete 16 hours of CE each year — the Board-required topics in a live format, plus additional live or webinar hours, with the balance available online. This clinical webinar counts toward the live-format hours beyond the Board-required block; for the Board-required block itself, see Ethics: TBCE Required & PACE Approved and Documentation & Risk: Audit-Ready Workflows. CCEDseminars reports completions to the TBCE directly. Full detail on the Texas chiropractic CE guidelines page.
Other states: many boards require that a portion of each renewal cycle's hours be earned in a live format, and most accept PACE-approved live webinars toward that portion; nutrition and clinical-topic allowances vary. Check your state's guide in the full state directory before building your renewal plan.
Build Your Live Block
Live hours are the scarce ones in most renewal cycles — boards cap what you can do online, not what you can do live. This session fills two of them with clinical content you will use the next morning, and it sits naturally beside the quarter's other Clinical & Longevity sessions on nutrition, healthy aging, and muscle as medicine. Texas licensees can stack it on top of the Board-required Ethics and Documentation & Risk block; licensees elsewhere can apply it toward their state's live-format portion. Course 6: Medication-Induced Nutrient Depletion in the Aging Patient — Frequently Asked Questions
What does this medication-induced nutrient depletion webinar cover?
The medications most prevalent in aging populations — statins, proton pump inhibitors, metformin, SSRIs, and antihypertensives — and the mechanisms by which each depletes nutrients through absorption, metabolism, excretion, and mitochondrial interference; the clinical consequences of depletion, including fatigue, neuropathy, muscle dysfunction, cognitive changes, and metabolic disruption; and targeted nutrient repletion with clinical integration into patient care. Also known as drug-induced nutrient depletion CE, medication and nutrient interaction training, drug-nutrient depletion for chiropractors, and functional medicine CE for the aging patient.
When is the webinar, and what is the format?
Tuesday, October 13, 2026, from 7:00 to 9:00 PM Central Time — a live, interactive webinar with Dr. Stacie Flanery and real-time Q&A. Attendance is verified during the session, a brief assessment follows, and your certificate is available in your account immediately upon completion. Register with the Add to Cart button and your access details are sent to your account email before the event.
Which medications deplete nutrients in older patients, and what are the warning signs?
The webinar centers on five drug classes aging patients take most: statins, proton pump inhibitors, metformin, SSRIs, and antihypertensives. Each interferes with a different step — absorption, metabolism, excretion, or mitochondrial function — and the resulting deficits present as fatigue, peripheral neuropathy, muscle weakness or cramping, cognitive change, and metabolic disruption that is easy to attribute to age alone. Dr. Flanery maps each medication to its depletion pattern, the presentation to watch for, and the targeted repletion strategy that fits a chiropractic care plan.
What if I register but cannot attend live?
Live-format credit requires live attendance, because that is what state boards mandate for these hours. If you cannot attend on October 13, check the live webinar calendar for the next available session, and CCEDseminars support can move your registration to a later date. Contact us before the event if your plans change.
How do certificates and reporting work?
Each completion generates an instant certificate with a permanent copy in your account dashboard. CCEDseminars is PACE Provider #34015544, co-sponsored by Texas Chiropractic College, reports directly to the Texas Board of Chiropractic Examiners, and handles CE Broker reporting automatically for states served — so your live hours are on record without extra paperwork. The complete approval list appears at the bottom of this page.
State Approval and Licensing Reminder
Continuing education requirements — including online-hour caps and clinical-hour minimums — vary by jurisdiction. Review the online chiropractic CE guidelines page and contact CCEDseminars with questions about your specific licensing requirements before registering.
