Where Live Hours Count — State Rules Worth Knowing
Texas: under Texas Administrative Code §73.1, licensees complete 16 hours of CE each year, and the Board-required topics — the Board's rules, code of ethics, and documenting, plus risk management — must be completed in a live format (live webinar, in-person, or teleconference). Other states: many boards require that a portion of each renewal cycle's hours be earned in a live format, and most accept PACE-approved live webinars toward that portion; ethics-specific requirements vary widely. Live-format credit requires live attendance, because that is what the TBCE and other boards mandate for these hours.
