Emotional health is not only a psychological state — it is a biological one, built and rebuilt every day by the nervous, endocrine, immune, metabolic, and gastrointestinal systems working together — and this 2-hour live webinar with Dr. Howard Benedikt examines resilience the way a functional systems clinician does: as physiology you can assess and support. Rather than viewing emotional health solely through a psychological lens, the course explores the biological mechanisms behind resilience, adaptation, and recovery — how autonomic regulation, mitochondrial function, inflammation, sleep, nutrition, and the gut microbiome each contribute to emotional well-being and physiological performance, and why patients under chronic stress lose the adaptive capacity that keeps them well.
The two hours move from a working definition of resilience — adaptation versus maladaptation, physiologic reserve, emotional flexibility — through the biology of adaptation across seven interacting systems, into the reasons patients lose resilience (chronic stress, sleep disruption, blood sugar dysregulation, poor nutrition, inactivity, persistent pain, environmental exposures, social isolation, and aging), and close with what chiropractors can actually do about it: evidence-informed nutrition, movement, restorative sleep, stress reduction, breathing and vagal stimulation, social connection, purpose, and mindfulness strategies that complement chiropractic care, brought together in patient assessment, lifestyle counseling, and a clinical case presentation. Attend live on Tuesday, November 10, 7–9 PM Central; complete the brief post-webinar assessment; your certificate is in your account the same night. This presentation is for educational purposes only and is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease.
Choose Your Live CE Path — Three Lanes, One Calendar
Every CCEDseminars webinar is live, PACE-approved, and taught in real time by practicing DC faculty with Q&A. Build by what your board requires, what your patients need, or the certification you are working toward. The full quarter lives on the live webinar calendar.
1 · TBCE Required
The Board-mandated live hours for Texas licensees — ethics, rules, documenting, and risk management — taught by Dr. Hall every month.
Ethics: TBCE Required & PACE Approved
Documentation & Risk: Audit-Ready Workflows
2 · Clinical & Longevity
Spinal manipulation and longevity, chiropractic nutrition and healthy aging, autonomic resilience, muscle as medicine, physical examination, regenerative medicine — the clinical sessions from Drs. Hall, Benedikt, Hill, Ozello, and O'Hara that count toward the live-format hours many states require. You are here: Emotional Health: The Biology of Resilience, November 10.
3 · Certification Track
Live sessions that also build toward CCEDseminars certification programs, including the Certified Longevity Health Specialist (CLHS) curriculum.
New live sessions are added to the calendar each quarter.
What You'll Learn — Course Agenda
- Understanding resilience: a functional systems definition — adaptation versus maladaptation, physiologic reserve, emotional flexibility, and the systems biology model of emotional health.
- The biology of adaptation: how the nervous, immune, and endocrine systems, the gut microbiome, mitochondria, circadian rhythm, and metabolic regulation interact to support — or erode — emotional well-being.
- Autonomic regulation & emotional health: how the autonomic nervous system influences emotional regulation and physiological adaptation.
- Mitochondria, inflammation & mood: the relationship between mitochondrial function, inflammation, and emotional well-being.
- Why patients lose resilience: chronic stress, sleep disruption, blood sugar dysregulation, poor nutrition, physical inactivity, persistent pain, environmental exposures, social isolation, and aging.
- Rebuilding adaptive capacity: nutrition, physical activity, restorative sleep, stress reduction, breathing and vagal stimulation, social connection, purpose and meaning, and mindfulness.
- Clinical strategies for practice: patient assessment, lifestyle counseling, nutritional support, exercise prescription, sleep optimization, breathing exercises, and clinical decision-making — anchored by a case presentation.
Your Live Webinar Faculty
Howard Benedikt, DC, DCBCN — instructor of this webinar — is a Diplomate and Executive Member of the Chiropractic Board of Clinical Nutrition and the clinical nutrition and functional medicine faculty for CCEDseminars. A graduate of National University of Health Sciences with an M.S. in Human Nutrition from the CW Post campus of Long Island University, Dr. Benedikt teaches practical, evidence-informed nutrition strategies for metabolic health, inflammation, and clinical decision-making, and his sessions — including autonomic nervous system regulation and chiropractic nutrition for healthy aging — emphasize clinical relevance, practical protocols, and the responsible use of nutritional assessment in chiropractic practice.
Michael Hall, DC, FIACN — board-certified chiropractic neurologist and Fellow of the International Academy of Chiropractic Neurology — leads the Texas TBCE ethics and compliance track, the Documentation & Risk series, and the spinal manipulation and longevity sessions.
Arland Hill, DC, MPH, DACBN — chiropractic physician with a Master of Public Health and Diplomate of the American Clinical Board of Nutrition — leads the muscle-as-medicine and clinical longevity track.
Donald Ozello, DC, CCN, CCSM and Dennis O'Hara, DC, DACBSP bring the sports-medicine sessions — physical examination, athletic injury, and regenerative medicine — to the live calendar. Full bios and the complete instructor roster: CCEDseminars faculty page.
Where Live Hours Count — State Rules Worth Knowing
Texas: under Texas Administrative Code §73.1, licensees complete 16 hours of CE each year — the Board-required topics in a live format, plus additional live or webinar hours, with the balance available online. This clinical webinar counts toward the live-format hours beyond the Board-required block; for the Board-required block itself, see Ethics: TBCE Required & PACE Approved and Documentation & Risk: Audit-Ready Workflows. CCEDseminars reports completions to the TBCE directly. Full detail on the Texas chiropractic CE guidelines page.
Other states: many boards require that a portion of each renewal cycle's hours be earned in a live format, and most accept PACE-approved live webinars toward that portion; nutrition and clinical-topic allowances vary. Check your state's guide in the full state directory before building your renewal plan.
Build Your Live Block
Live hours are the scarce ones in most renewal cycles — boards cap what you can do online, not what you can do live. This session fills two of them with clinical content you will use the next morning, and it sits naturally beside the quarter's other Clinical & Longevity sessions on nutrition, healthy aging, and functional medicine. Texas licensees can stack it on top of the Board-required Ethics and Documentation & Risk block; licensees elsewhere can apply it toward their state's live-format portion. Emotional Health: The Biology of Resilience — Frequently Asked Questions
What does this emotional health webinar cover?
The biological mechanisms that support emotional resilience, adaptation, and recovery: a functional systems definition of resilience; how the autonomic nervous system influences emotional regulation; the relationship between mitochondrial function, inflammation, and emotional well-being; the influence of sleep, nutrition, movement, and the gut microbiome on resilience; the lifestyle and biological factors that diminish adaptive capacity; and evidence-informed clinical strategies — nutrition, exercise, sleep optimization, breathing and vagal stimulation, stress reduction, and patient education — that complement chiropractic care. Also known as emotional resilience CE for chiropractors, stress resilience webinar, gut-brain axis and emotional health course, and functional medicine CE for chronic stress.
When is the webinar, and what is the format?
Tuesday, November 10, 2026, from 7:00 to 9:00 PM Central Time — a live, interactive webinar with Dr. Howard Benedikt and real-time Q&A. Attendance is verified during the session, a brief assessment follows, and your certificate is available in your account immediately upon completion. Register with the Add to Cart button and your access details are sent to your account email before the event.
Why do patients lose resilience — and can it be rebuilt?
Resilience erodes when the demands on a patient's physiology outrun their reserve — chronic stress, sleep disruption, blood sugar dysregulation, poor nutrition, physical inactivity, persistent pain, environmental exposures, social isolation, and aging each chip away at adaptive capacity. The course's answer to the second question is yes: because resilience is physiological, it responds to physiological inputs. Dr. Benedikt walks through rebuilding adaptive capacity with nutrition, physical activity, restorative sleep, stress reduction, breathing and vagal stimulation, social connection, purpose, and mindfulness — then shows how to translate those into patient assessment, lifestyle counseling, and clinical decision-making, anchored by a case presentation.
What if I register but cannot attend live?
Live-format credit requires live attendance, because that is what state boards mandate for these hours. If you cannot attend on November 10, check the live webinar calendar for the next available session, and CCEDseminars support can move your registration to a later date. Contact us before the event if your plans change.
How do certificates and reporting work?
Each completion generates an instant certificate with a permanent copy in your account dashboard. CCEDseminars is PACE Provider #34015544, co-sponsored by Texas Chiropractic College, reports directly to the Texas Board of Chiropractic Examiners, and handles CE Broker reporting automatically for states served — so your live hours are on record without extra paperwork.
