Functional movement has become one of the most marketed — and least scrutinized — corners of musculoskeletal care, and this 2-hour live webinar with Dr. Dennis O'Hara puts the protocols under an evidence lens. Designed for the evidence-based chiropractor, the session reviews the many causes of dysfunctional movement patterns seen in daily practice, separates the assessment tools and exercise protocols that hold up in the peer-reviewed literature from the ones that only hold up in the brochure, and shows where each fits the chronic musculoskeletal patient in front of you.
The two hours open with what proper movement actually looks like and the improper patterns that show up in practice, then move through the industry's functional movement assessment tools and how they apply to real patients. Hour two grades the clinical data — the consensus guidelines for spinal and joint complaints — and builds a precision differential diagnosis that sorts structural, functional, and mechanical indications (hip joint dysfunction, discogenic back pain, advanced knee osteoarthritis) to identify true candidates from cases that need standard conservative or advanced surgical care. It closes with the chiro-medical collaborative workflow: referral and communication pathways with medical specialists, and a mechanical rehabilitation protocol that uses chiropractic stabilization and therapeutic exercise to restore tissue load-bearing capacity. Attend live on Thursday, November 12, 7–9 PM Central; complete the brief post-webinar assessment; your certificate is in your account the same night.
Choose Your Live CE Path — Three Lanes, One Calendar
Every CCEDseminars webinar is live, PACE-approved, and taught in real time by practicing DC faculty with Q&A. Build by what your board requires, what your patients need, or the certification you are working toward. The full quarter lives on the live webinar calendar.
1 · TBCE Required
The Board-mandated live hours for Texas licensees — ethics, rules, documenting, and risk management — taught by Dr. Hall every month.
Ethics: TBCE Required & PACE Approved
Documentation & Risk: Audit-Ready Workflows
2 · Clinical & Longevity
Spinal manipulation and longevity, chiropractic nutrition and healthy aging, autonomic resilience, muscle as medicine, physical examination, regenerative medicine — the clinical sessions from Drs. Hall, Benedikt, Hill, Ozello, and O'Hara that count toward the live-format hours many states require. You are here: Functional Movement, November 12.
3 · Certification Track
Live sessions that also build toward CCEDseminars certification programs, including the Certified Longevity Health Specialist (CLHS) curriculum.
New live sessions are added to the calendar each quarter.
What You'll Learn — Course Agenda

- Hour 1 · Functional movement assessment tools: what the industry is using and how each applies to your patients.
- Hour 2 · Grading the clinical data: the consensus guidelines for spinal and joint complaints, and which protocols work within them.
- Hour 2 · Precision differential diagnosis: structural, functional, and mechanical indications — hip joint dysfunction, discogenic back pain, advanced knee osteoarthritis — to set precise protocols and outcomes.
- Hour 2 · The chiro-medical collaborative workflow: evidence-based communication and referral pathways with medical specialists.
- Hour 2 · Mechanical rehabilitation protocol: structuring a program that uses chiropractic care to optimize tissue load-bearing capacity.
Your Live Webinar Faculty
Dennis O'Hara, DC, DACBSP — instructor of this webinar — is a Diplomate of the American Chiropractic Board of Sports Physicians, the sports chiropractic faculty for CCEDseminars, and Texas Chiropractic College postgraduate faculty. A 1992 graduate of National College of Chiropractic with nearly 30 years of clinical experience and a former team chiropractor for D.C. United of Major League Soccer, Dr. O'Hara teaches movement-focused assessment, rehabilitative exercise, return-to-play, and soft-tissue management — translating current research into protocols chiropractors can apply in everyday clinical care.
Michael Hall, DC, FIACN — board-certified chiropractic neurologist and Fellow of the International Academy of Chiropractic Neurology — leads the Texas TBCE ethics and compliance track, the Documentation & Risk series, and the spinal manipulation and longevity sessions.
Arland Hill, DC, MPH, DACBN — chiropractic physician with a Master of Public Health and Diplomate of the American Clinical Board of Nutrition — leads the muscle-as-medicine and clinical longevity track.

Where Live Hours Count — State Rules Worth Knowing
Texas: under Texas Administrative Code §73.1, licensees complete 16 hours of CE each year — the Board-required topics in a live format, plus additional live or webinar hours, with the balance available online. This clinical webinar counts toward the live-format hours beyond the Board-required block; for the Board-required block itself, see Ethics: TBCE Required & PACE Approved and Documentation & Risk: Audit-Ready Workflows. CCEDseminars reports completions to the TBCE directly. Full detail on the Texas chiropractic CE guidelines page.
Other states: many boards require that a portion of each renewal cycle's hours be earned in a live format, and most accept PACE-approved live webinars toward that portion; nutrition and clinical-topic allowances vary. Check your state's guide in the full state directory before building your renewal plan.
Build Your Live Block
Live hours are the scarce ones in most renewal cycles — boards cap what you can do online, not what you can do live. This session fills two of them with musculoskeletal content you will use on the next patient with a stubborn back, hip, or knee, and it sits naturally beside the quarter's other Clinical & Longevity sessions on emotional resilience, healthy aging, and functional medicine. Texas licensees can stack it on top of the Board-required Ethics and Documentation & Risk block; licensees elsewhere can apply it toward their state's live-format portion. Functional Movement: Evidence-Based Protocols — Frequently Asked Questions
What does this functional movement webinar cover?
An evidence-anchored evaluation of current functional movement protocols and exercises for chronic musculoskeletal conditions: the causes of dysfunctional movement patterns, a critical look at the assessment tools and protocols in use across the industry, the consensus guidelines for spinal and joint complaints, a precision differential diagnosis that separates structural, functional, and mechanical indications, and a collaborative workflow that combines chiropractic stabilization, mechanical rehab, and therapeutic exercise. By the end you will be able to match protocols to the categories of abnormal motion you see in practice, weigh peer-reviewed evidence and consensus guidelines against clinical indications, screen candidates with a robust differential framework, and formulate a multi-disciplinary care plan. Also known as functional movement CE for chiropractors, movement assessment webinar, evidence-based rehabilitation course, and chronic musculoskeletal co-management CE.
When is the webinar, and what is the format?
Thursday, November 12, 2026, from 7:00 to 9:00 PM Central Time — a live, interactive webinar with Dr. Dennis O'Hara and real-time Q&A. Attendance is verified during the session, a brief assessment follows, and your certificate is available in your account immediately upon completion. Register with the Add to Cart button and your access details are sent to your account email before the event.
Do functional movement screens actually predict who gets better?
That is the question the second hour is built around. Dr. O'Hara grades the clinical data behind the popular screens and protocols against the consensus guidelines for spinal and joint complaints, separates the claims that survive peer review from the ones that live in marketing, and then shows how a precision differential diagnosis — structural versus functional versus mechanical indications, with hip joint dysfunction, discogenic back pain, and advanced knee osteoarthritis as worked examples — decides who is a candidate for a movement protocol, who needs standard conservative care, and who should be referred for advanced or surgical evaluation.
What if I register but cannot attend live?
Live-format credit requires live attendance, because that is what state boards mandate for these hours. If you cannot attend on November 12, check the live webinar calendar for the next available session, and CCEDseminars support can move your registration to a later date. Contact us before the event if your plans change.
How do certificates and reporting work?
Each completion generates an instant certificate with a permanent copy in your account dashboard. CCEDseminars is PACE Provider #34015544, co-sponsored by Texas Chiropractic College, reports directly to the Texas Board of Chiropractic Examiners, and handles CE Broker reporting automatically for states served — so your live hours are on record without extra paperwork. The complete approval list appears at the bottom of this page.
State Approval and Licensing Reminder
Continuing education requirements — including online-hour caps and live-hour minimums — vary by jurisdiction. Review the online chiropractic CE guidelines page and contact CCEDseminars with questions about your specific licensing requirements before registering.
