Peptides are small; their potential in tissue healing, recovery and performance is anything but. CLHS 208 separates the oral peptide strategies with real clinical evidence from the injectable and research-only compounds that dominate the marketing. Howard Benedikt, DC, DCBCN, organizes the field around four clinical outcomes — restore tissue healing and integrity, reduce inflammation and pain pathways, rebuild recovery, adaptation and performance, and reconnect the gut–tissue axis — and grades every compound on a three-level evidence scale: strong, emerging, experimental.

The course runs from the foundations of what peptides are and how they act in the body, through the gut as a driver of systemic inflammation, to the strong-evidence oral peptides (collagen peptides, undenatured type II collagen, PEA), the emerging research on BPC-157, KPV and GHK-Cu, and the safety, regulatory, WADA and scope-of-practice questions every chiropractor will be asked — ending with practical, take-home strategies for integrating evidence-informed peptide nutrition with chiropractic care and rehabilitation. This course is for educational purposes only and is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease.

Where This Course Fits — The Five CLHS Pillars

You are here: CLHS 208 — Pillar 2, Metabolic Efficiency. CLHS 206 surveys nutraceuticals and emerging longevity therapies; 208 takes one of those emerging categories — peptides — to depth, with the evidence grading to match.

1. Neuromechanical Integrity

Spinal and joint mechanics, proprioception, balance and fall risk, and the evidence on manipulation across the lifespan.

2. Metabolic Efficiency

Muscle as a metabolic organ, nutrition for healthy aging, medication-induced nutrient depletion, and the lab markers worth watching.

3. Functional Movement

Strength, power and mobility programs that keep patients capable.

4. Sleep Hygiene

Sleep as a longevity lever: assessment, disruptors, and non-pharmacologic approaches within chiropractic scope.

5. Stress Adaptation

Autonomic resilience, the biology of stress, and the tools for measuring a patient's adaptive capacity.

What You'll Learn

  • Foundations of peptides: what peptides are and how they work in the body.
  • Peptides & tissue healing: mechanisms relevant to musculoskeletal repair and recovery.
  • Gut–tissue connection: the gut as a driver of systemic inflammation and tissue healing.
  • Oral peptides with strong evidence: collagen peptides, undenatured type II collagen, PEA (palmitoylethanolamide), and more.
  • Emerging peptides, promising research: BPC-157, KPV, GHK-Cu, and others — what the science shows so far.
  • Safety, regulations & clinical considerations: quality, dosing, contraindications, WADA status, scope of practice, and patient education.
  • Practical application & take-home strategies: how to integrate evidence-informed peptide nutrition with chiropractic care and rehabilitation.

Credit, Reporting & State Rules

CLHS 208 is a 2-hour on-demand course, PACE-recognized and co-sponsored by Texas Chiropractic College — the approval pathway most boards accept for online chiropractic CE. Its approval list renders at the bottom of this page, straight from the course record; that list is the one to trust.

Most boards cap the share of a renewal that can be earned online, and several classify nutrition, exercise and wellness coursework under a general or clinical category rather than a named one — check how your board counts it before relying on CLHS hours for a specific requirement.

Texas: licensees can verify provider status through the Texas Board of Chiropractic Examiners. For every other state and province, start at the CE guidelines directory.

Build Your CLHS Block

Frequently Asked Questions

What does CLHS 208 cover?

The science of peptides and the evidence-informed, oral supplement strategies that complement chiropractic care: what peptides are and how they work, mechanisms relevant to musculoskeletal repair and recovery, the gut as a driver of systemic inflammation and tissue healing, the oral peptides with strong evidence (collagen peptides, undenatured type II collagen, PEA), the emerging research on BPC-157, KPV and GHK-Cu, and the safety, regulatory, WADA and scope-of-practice questions — ending with take-home strategies for integrating peptide nutrition with chiropractic care and rehabilitation. Also known as peptide therapy CE, oral peptides CE or peptide nutrition CE.

Who teaches it, and is it for chiropractors?

Howard Benedikt, DC, DCBCN, Diplomate and Executive Member of the Chiropractic Board of Clinical Nutrition. The course is written for practicing chiropractors and stays inside chiropractic scope: it covers oral, evidence-graded nutritional strategies, patient education and the scope and regulatory lines a DC needs to know — it does not teach injectable or research-only compounds as clinical tools. PACE-recognized and co-sponsored by Texas Chiropractic College.

My patient is buying BPC-157 online — what do I say?

Start with where it sits on the evidence scale: BPC-157 is emerging — promising research, more human data needed — and most of what is sold online is injectable or research-only product with no quality control, which the course places in the experimental tier. The course gives you the language for that conversation, the oral strategies with strong evidence you can recommend in its place for tissue repair and inflammation, and the safety, WADA, regulatory and scope-of-practice facts that keep your advice defensible.

Which peptides actually have evidence?

The course grades every compound on a three-level scale. Strong evidence: well-researched oral strategies with clinical support, such as collagen peptides, undenatured type II collagen and PEA. Emerging evidence: promising research with more human data needed, which is where BPC-157, KPV, GHK-Cu and others sit today. Experimental: primarily injectable or research-only compounds. The grading, not the marketing, drives the clinical recommendations.

How is the course delivered, and when do I get my certificate?

Recorded video you can watch on any device, with one year of access from purchase. Pass the short post-test and your certificate is available immediately. For states served by CE Broker, completion is reported automatically.
