Where Neurology CE Hours Count — State Rules Worth Knowing
Clinical neurology coursework is clinical subject matter — assessment, diagnosis and case management — which is exactly what several state boards ask for. In Iowa, these hours serve the 36-hour clinical case-management minimum; in Rhode Island, they address the 50-of-60 clinical requirement; and in Vermont — where practice-building coursework earns nothing — patient-care education like this counts fully under the clinical-focus rule.

What does this course actually cover about anxiety?
Three things: the anatomy underlying anxiety — how anxiety is defined, the neuroanatomy of emotion, and the gut–brain connection; the current picture in America, including prevalence and the reasons offered for the rise; and management, including strategies, understanding the person in front of you, and where chiropractic applications fit.
Is a chiropractor qualified to manage a patient’s anxiety?
Not as a mental health provider, and the course does not present it that way. Anxiety disorders are diagnosed and treated by qualified mental health professionals. What this course covers is the neuroanatomy a chiropractor should understand, how anxiety presents in a musculoskeletal practice, and the supportive and educational role a chiropractor can legitimately take — including when to refer.
What is the gut–brain connection, and why is it in a neurology course?
Because it is neurology. The gut has its own extensive nervous system in continuous two-way communication with the brain via the vagus nerve and other pathways, and that traffic influences emotional state. The course covers the connection as part of the anatomy of anxiety rather than as a nutritional aside.
Why has anxiety risen so sharply in America?
The course reviews the prevalence data and the explanations that have been proposed for the increase, rather than settling on one cause. That distinction matters: prevalence figures are measurable, and the reasons behind them are contested, so the course presents the evidence and the competing rationales separately.
How do I talk to an anxious patient without overstepping?
That is a substantial part of the management section — understanding individuals with anxiety, and patient education done properly. The practical answer is to stay inside your scope, be clear about what you are and are not treating, and know the referral pathway before you need it.
