Few measurements in chiropractic carry as much confidence and as little agreement as the cervical curve. In Iowa, these hours serve the 36-hour clinical case-management minimum; in Rhode Island, they address the 50-of-60 clinical requirement; and in Vermont — where practice-building coursework earns nothing — patient-care education like this counts fully under the clinical-focus rule.

Less settled than the confident numbers suggest, which is the point of the course section titled “It’s Really Not About the Numbers.” The course covers the published ranges and the methods used to measure them, and treats the curve as an arc with a range rather than a single target value that every patient should be driven toward.

Which method should I use to assess lordosis?

The course reviews the available methods of assessing lordosis and what each one actually measures, so the choice is made on reasoning rather than habit. It also covers where the methods disagree — which matters, because a measurement that changes with technique is not a measurement you can build a treatment plan on.

Does the research support correcting the cervical curve?

The course examines the current research on cervical lordosis and its relationship to the health of the body and brain, including what the studies do and do not establish. It is written to let you read the evidence rather than to sell a position, and the honest summary is that the relationship is better supported than the precise numeric targets are.

What does the vestibular system have to do with the cervical curve?

The vestibular system and postural reflexes are part of how the curve is maintained moment to moment — posture is actively held by reflex, not passively stacked.
