Course Description: Walking may well be one of the best exercises for a healthy body and brain. There are many health benefits to walking that range from improved blood pressure, better blood sugar regulation, reduced inflammation, weight control, reduced sarcopenia, improved bone density, and reduced all-cause mortality. However, there are some specifics to a health centric walking program. This presentation will present current literature along with the “hows” and “whys” of a health-oriented walking program that can be easily implemented into your care plan and improve patient outcomes.

4. Discuss the most effective steps and cadence of walking programs
