Every South Carolina chiropractor must complete two hours of continuing education in the rules and regulations of the South Carolina Board of Chiropractic Examiners as part of each biennial license renewal. This course satisfies that requirement — and does it by teaching the rules the Board actually enforces. This is a hybrid course with video instruction & downloadable study guide.

The material is drawn directly from the South Carolina Practice Act (Title 40, Chapter 9 of the Code of Laws) and the Board's regulations (Chapter 25 of the Code of Regulations, current through the May 2024 amendments). Across eight focused modules, you will move from the structure of the Board and the statutory scope of practice through licensure, continuing education, professional conduct, ethics, advertising, and discipline.

What This Course Covers
  1. The Regulatory Framework — the Practice Act and the Board's regulations, and the Board's structure and authority under the Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation.
  2. Definitions & Scope of Practice — the statutory definition of chiropractic, permitted analysis and procedures, the eleven prohibited procedures, therapeutic-modality requirements, the manipulation-under-anesthesia protocol, and title rules.
  3. Licensure — initial licensure and examinations, licensure by endorsement, special and volunteer licenses, biennial renewal, reinstatement, and inactive status.
  4. Continuing Education: The 36-Hour Rule — the biennial 36-hour requirement and the 18-hour online cap, the required rules-and-regulations and risk-management topics, approved sponsors, alternative credit routes, exemptions, CE Broker reporting, and audits.
  5. Professional Conduct, Records & Practice Obligations — unprofessional acts, billing integrity, patient-record rights and retention, the sixty-day practice-closure rule, and patient termination.
  6. The Code of Ethics — Regulation 25-7, informed judgment, confidentiality, continuing competence, and the ninety-day rule on former patients.
  7. Advertising & Solicitation — Regulation 25-8, the broad definition that reaches social media, personal responsibility for all advertising, and the seven prohibitions.
  8. Discipline, Penalties & Compliance Summary — statutory grounds for discipline, the complaint and hearing process, temporary suspension, civil fines and criminal penalties, and a practical compliance checklist.
What You'll Learn
  • Identify the two governing documents and the Board's authority under LLR.
