For several years, CCEDseminars ran a manual promo-code discount system. Doctors who knew the codes — 6hbc for 10% off a 6-to-9-hour purchase, 10hbc for 20% off a 10-hour-or-more purchase — entered them at checkout and saw the discount apply. The codes worked. The math was right. The CE quality was the same as it is today.
But over time we noticed a pattern that bothered us: every month, doctors paid full price for multi-hour bundles because they forgot the code, never saw it advertised, or assumed checkout would prompt them. That is not how a multi-hour CE discount should work. It rewarded the doctors who remembered a string of characters, and quietly overcharged the doctors who did not.
Why we retired the codes
Three reasons drove the change.
One — fairness. A discount that depends on memory or marketing exposure is not actually a discount policy. It is a quiz. Doctors who came back to renew their CE every year should not get a different price than first-time enrollees just because they remembered a code from a previous purchase. The automatic system means every chiropractor who builds a qualifying cart receives the same savings, every time.
Two — checkout transparency. Modern checkout software, including the CCEDseminars cart, can calculate discounts in real time as items are added. There is no technical reason to gate a known, standing offer behind a code field. The cart now watches your CE hour total and applies the correct tier the moment you cross 6 hours or 10 hours.
