The relationship runs both ways, and that is the premise of this course. Pregnancy changes the spine — load, ligamentous laxity, center of mass, the whole mechanical picture. But the spine also exerts its own influence on pregnancy, and Pediatrics 207 takes both directions seriously: the overview of how pregnancy affects the spine, the discussion of the spine's effect on pregnancy, clinical case studies worth sitting with, and the adjusting procedures that are specific to the pregnant patient rather than borrowed from everyone else.

This is Part I of the Pregnancy & Chiropractic material and the opening of the Pregnancy & Family Practice cluster. Two CE hours with Tracy Wilson, DC, CLM, online and on demand.

Is Pediatrics 207 PACE-approved and accepted in my state?

The per-state approvals for this course render at the bottom of this page, and the full list lives on the State/Region CEU Approvals page. Confirming your own board’s current requirements remains your responsibility as the licensee.

Is chiropractic safe during pregnancy?

Chiropractic care is widely used during pregnancy, and the adjusting procedures a doctor selects for a pregnant patient differ from those used otherwise — positioning, contact and force are all modified, which is a substantial part of what this course teaches. Whether it is appropriate in a particular pregnancy is a clinical decision for a licensed doctor who has taken a history and examined the patient, in coordination with the obstetric provider where indicated. This page is professional continuing education for Doctors of Chiropractic; if you are pregnant and have questions, raise them with your own chiropractor and obstetric provider.

How many CE hours does Pediatrics 207 award, and how is the certificate issued?

Two CE hours. The course is online and on demand, so it starts the moment you enroll. Completion is recorded electronically when you pass the post-course assessment, your certificate is issued immediately, and the completion is reported to CE Broker for the states CCEDseminars serves.

Which CCED pediatrics courses pair well with Pediatrics 207?

Pediatrics 207 opens the Pregnancy & Family Practice cluster, which follows one arc from pregnancy into the first years of life. Pediatrics 209: Stress and the Family Wellness Practice and Pediatrics 210: Pediatric Infant Nutrition continue it. Doctors building a family-practice emphasis commonly take the cluster together, and all three sit inside the 24-hour CCP bundle.
