The pearls that separate a chiropractor who sees children from one who understands them are mostly about tone, and about knowing what a given age is supposed to look like. Pediatrics 214 runs the whole landscape from prenatal stages to school age: the developmental benchmarks that tell you whether a child is on schedule, assessment built around postural and axial tone with the observational techniques and decision-making that make it usable in a real visit, and the management essentials that come up constantly — plagiocephaly, facial symmetry, posture, head hold and gait.

A stand-alone pediatric course taught by a chiropractic neurologist. Two CE hours with Michael Hall, DC, FIACN, online and on demand.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does Pediatrics 214: Pearls for the Practicing Chiropractor cover?

Pediatric stages and developmental benchmarks from prenatal stages to school age; assessment techniques focused on postural and axial tone, with observational techniques and strategic decision-making; and management essentials addressing plagiocephaly, facial symmetry, posture, head hold and gait. Also known as pediatric clinical pearls CE, infant tone assessment CE, and Pearls for the Practicing Chiropractor.

Is Pediatrics 214 PACE-approved and accepted in my state?

CCEDseminars is FCLB PACE Provider #34015544 and co-sponsored by Texas Chiropractic College Post Graduate Studies Division. The per-state approvals for this course render at the bottom of this page, and the full list lives on the State/Region CEU Approvals page. Confirming your own board’s current requirements remains your responsibility as the licensee.

My baby’s head looks flat on one side. Is that something a chiropractor looks at?

A flattened area on an infant’s skull is plagiocephaly, and assessing it — along with facial symmetry, head hold, tone and posture — is part of what this course teaches Doctors of Chiropractic to observe and manage in the pediatric population. Whether it needs intervention, and what kind, depends on the cause, the degree and the child’s age, and that is a clinical judgment for the clinician who examines the child, in coordination with the pediatrician. This page is professional continuing education; if you are a parent with concerns about your own baby’s head shape, raise them with your pediatrician and treating chiropractor.

How many CE hours does Pediatrics 214 award, and how is the certificate issued?

Two CE hours. The course is online and on demand, so it starts the moment you enroll. Completion is recorded electronically when you pass the post-course assessment, your certificate is issued immediately, and the completion is reported to CE Broker for the states CCEDseminars serves.

Is Pediatrics 214 part of the CCP certification bundle?

No. The 24-hour CCP certification bundle is Pediatrics 201 through 212. Pediatrics 213 and 214 sit outside it as stand-alone pediatric courses, and 214 does not count toward CCP certification. It does count toward your automatic bundle discount at checkout, and it pairs naturally with Dr. Hall’s Pediatrics 213: Toxic Synovitis — the two stand-alone courses together are 4 hours of pediatric case reasoning from the same instructor.

Good to know: the course title in your account is your access link. After checkout, log in and open Pediatrics 214 from your course list — there is nothing to download and nothing expires. Bundle discounts apply automatically at checkout, so add every hour you need before you pay.
